Lincoln Historian to discuss in oak ridge the greatest speech ever delivered

Lincoln historian and Scott County jurist James L Cotton Jr. will discuss his exploration into the life of Abraham Lincoln and the facets of the presidentís life that gave rise to the words and thoughts expressed in the Gettysburg Address, considered to be the greatest speech in American history. Judge Cotton is the author of The Greatest Speech, Ever: The Remarkable Story of Abraham Lincoln and His Gettysburg Address published by the History Publishing Company in November, 2013. The foreword was by former U.S. Senator Howard Baker.
Judge Cotton will share his exploration into Abraham Lincolnís life in an address to the Rotary Club on March 27 at the Doubletree Hotel in Oak Ridge. An author and historian, he is a member of the adjunct faculty of Roane State Community College and a judge of the General Sessions Court of Scott County.
