February 13, 2014 — Print this Page
History Publishing Company has agreed to publish “Wiki War” by John Sutherland in September, 2014. Subtitled The Progressive Regression of 21st Century Jihad, the author examines the paradoxical use of progressive technology by the jihadists to regress to medieval life.
Through use of the Internet as a gathering place for information, a rallying place for planning, and a recruiting venue for gathering psychologically disposed forces, the ‘Wiki War,’ often waged by faceless people with simple bombs and explosives, is grounded in advanced technology.
John Sutherland, currently an analyst with the Department of Defense, puts into perspective the changing nature of the geopolitical world and its extension of warfare to the present ‘Wiki-War’ conflicts with rules similar to Wikipedia: anyone can get involved. He is also a retired Lieutenant Colonel (US Army) with Ranger, Airborne, and Pathfinder qualifications and has served two tours in Iraq. He has been published numerous times in military magazines and previously wrote a book on military tactics. He resides in Chesapeake, Virginia with his family.
