January date for Signal Corps book on communications revolution

Retired U.S. Army General Clarence “Mike” McKnight’s forthcoming book From Pigeons to Tweets is set for a January pub date. Gen. McKnights book traces the revolution in military communications from the Korean War to Desert Storm. Gen. McKnight entered the Signal Corp as a young lieutenant,after graduating from West Point. His first assignment was during the Korean War when pigeons were actually the backup to radio communication.He rose in rank within the Signal Corps and contributed immeasurably to the development and usage of communication technology.As Commanding General, he oversaw the development of computer technology in the U.S. Military and its first usage in tactical warfare during Desert Storm.
