Defying Evil:How the Italian Army Saved Croatian Jews During the Holocaust by Benjamin Wood,recently published under the HPC imprint, has been selected by The Sons of Italy Book Club for one of its three Sping recommendations. Author Ben Wood’s book was well reviewed by Publishers Weekly and Library Journal. In the Italian America magazine, the largest circulation magazine to American Italians, the editors wrote “Defying Evil reveals the courage and compassion many Italians showed in challenging Nazi authority to protect powerless Jewish men, women and children.”
Defying Evil was published in April, 2012.
